Henna

Henna can last the longest of the types of body art offered.  Natural brown henna starts as a bright orange stain and darkens over the next day or two, so it will be most intense a few days after it's applied.  NJ Entertainers henna artists use only natural brown, harmless henna, and never so-called "black henna" being used.  Why?  Read this and you'll see.  "Black henna" is actually mixed with PPD, or hair dye at 10x the recommended concentration, which can cause severe reactions, including welts, blisters, sores, allergies to medications, even scarring.

White henna is a beautiful "henna style" art that actually isn't henna at all!  It's done using thin lines of the same FDA-compliant, skin-safe adhesive used for glitter tattoos, and then overlaid with a white mica, creating a gorgeous, delicate design.

Henna lace is an FDA-compliant temporary tattoo that's applied like henna and drawn on by hand, but doesn't stain the skin.  Instead, it remains on the surface of your skin for up to a week.  It's waterproof, vibrant, and fun!

Care and removal instructions:
1.      Leave the paste on your skin 4+ hours for best results.  The longer it remains on your skin, the darker and longer-lasting the stain will
be.  Paste can be left on overnight.  Even if the dried paste starts falling off, DO NOT REMOVE THE REST.  Let it stay on as long as
possible.
2.      If your paste smears, return to the henna artist IMMEDIATELY (if there is a line, jump to the front of it!).  If the artist has left,
wash the paste off with soap and water as quickly as you can – the smear will stain in that smear shape!
3.      To remove the paste, simply brush it off with your hand.  Keep the area dry as possible for the next 24 hours, to allow the remaining
oils on your skin continue staining.  After 24 hours, apply a quality moisturizer to the area daily to help maintain the stain.
4.      Do not use exfoliants, such as loofa sponges, on the design.  Henna stains the top three to four layers of skin, and exfoliating removes
that skin.
5.      Do not put sunscreen or any product containing sunscreen (lotion, lip balm) on henna.  The sunscreen removes the stain.
6.      Chlorinated water (swimming pools, hot tubs) removes the stain.  If you will be in chlorinated water, apply Chap Stick or similar product over the stain to protect it before entering the water.
